Join us to meet fellow trainees from both the CAGC and CCMG, and participate in some informal and relaxed sessions focused on trainees. Refreshments will be provided! The event will include time to network and mingle with other trainees and a talk from a recent graduate, Dr. Rebecca Mantha, where she will share her experiences during her training, both as a resident and a patient, and how they have shaped her practice.  After success at last year’s CCMG meeting, the event will include a “Speed-Mentoring” event (like speed-dating but with mentors!), where you will have the opportunity to meet with mentors who can provide advice on a variety of subjects including career planning, fellowships, and employment! Trainees (i.e., students, residents, fellows) from all programs are welcome to attend! Attendees are invited to continue socializing and networking over dinner and drinks at the Maclab Bistro afterward the formal sessions conclude.

The CCMG Trainee Session is an annual event that aims to bring trainees from across the country to network and participate in sessions specific to trainees. Attendance typically includes resident physicians, laboratory fellows and research trainees working in genetics. This year, as the meeting is joint with the CAGC, we are excited that the event will also include genetic counselling trainees. The CCMG-CAGC Trainee Evening will cover topics ranging from career planning, to mentorship, to the future of our discipline. The event will provide CCMG and CAGC Trainees with opportunities to socialize and start building their professional networks in a casual setting.
